Welcome to Lanzarote

Lanzarote - The Hawaii of Europe

Lanzarote is the “Hawaii of Europe” with its mystical and volcanic landscape, year round great wind and wave conditions and countless surf and kite spots for beginners to experienced riders, it is the ideal surf and kite destination!

A volcanic island

Lanzarote is a volcanic island, where all the solidified lava streams and rock formations create a unique, unreal, almost lunar landscape throughout the island, definitely add on to the island’s unique beauty and provide its visitors many things to discover. El Timanfaya volcanic park, El Golfo crater and the Atlandida Tunnel are certainly not to be missed!

Thanks to the volcanic heritage, Lanzarote also has some delicious wines produced in a quite unusual way with some revolutionary farming methods. Definitely take a wine-tasting tour round the wine cellars in La Geria and check out the special vineyards.

Waves all year around

Lanzarote is the easternmost of the Spanish Canary Islands, located 100 km west coast of Africa, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It has powerful waves firing off its reefs throughout October to March, but is consistent enough throughout the rest of the year to score good waves whenever you visit.

The Island picks up swells on its North, East and West coasts, where visitors can surf, kite, windsurf and SUP as they wish. Aside from the water sports, Lanzarote also offers a big range of earth sports from biking to trekking, from golfing to horse riding.

Warm winds

Lanzarote has a great mild dry climate with lots of sun throughout the year, with daytime temperatures ranging between 21-29 degrees, night temperatures between 15-20 degrees, and water temperatures between 18-25 degrees.

No wonder why Lanzarote is a perfect year-round holiday destination! Bring both summer clothes for the sunny windless days, and some warmer clothes for the nights and the windy days.
