Lanzarote is the most northern of the Canary Islands, 100 km off the Moroccan coast, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Lanzarote is the "Hawaii of Europe" with its mystical and volcanic landscape and countless surf spots, from "world class reef breaks" to deserted beach breaks for beginners.
Our surf school and IKO kitesurf school in Lanzarote are based in Caleta de Famara, a small fishing village, surrounded by the "Parque Natural de Famara" (natural reserve), a 5 km sandy beach with perfect and safe conditions to teach surfing or kite surfing in Lanzarote.
We do not offer pick ups from the Airport or any other location
Our Apartment complex in Costa Teguise it's just a 15 minute drive from the Airport and 25 minutes drive to Famara. Clients usually rent a car or get a one of the many taxis available right at the airport.
TAXI
Taxis are widely available right outside the airport. The journey takes around 15 minutes and costs around 30€
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
By law, we are not allowed to do airport transfers. Only taxis or authorized shuttle companies can do airport transfers from Lanzarote airport.
BUSES TO FAMARA
There are no direct buses Airport/Famara. You have to catch one to ARRECIFE and then another to CALETA DE FAMARA, or a Taxi to Arrecife (+-10€) and then a bus to Famara.
You can find all Bus schedules here: http://www.lanzarote.com/bus/
BY CAR

Lanzarote has very little public transportation but many great places of interest to visit such as the National Park of Timanfaya, Foundation Cesar Manrique, Jameos del Agua, Cuevas de los Verdes, Mirador del Rio etc..
We will provide an information pack to you on the arrival with all the places worth visiting as well as local restaurants and other points of interest on the island. Although we provide transportation from our school to the kitesurf class spots, we know that having a car gives you lots of freedom. Due to the lack of public transportation, Lanzarote is one of the cheapest places on earth for renting a car (as low as 15€/day).
In case you are interested, we arrange for car rental with airport pickup/deliver - all inclusive (except gas), fully insured (except car keys and off roading tire damage) + 2nd driver (free). Price list
Taking into account that taxi to/from airport/Famara can cost around 70€ (+-35€/one way), for a bit more you can have a car for the entire week and the total freedom of visiting the many cultural and leisure sites that Lanzarote has to offer!
Costa Teguise is located on the eastern side of Lanzarote, close to the capital and only 10 to 15 minutes by car from the airport. It offers all types of amenities and leisure activities.
Our luxury surf camp in Lanzarote is located in the center of Costa Teguise, just meters from supermarkets, bars, restaurants, etc... and only 400mt from Las Cucharas beach.
Costa Teguise is one of the most attractive tourist areas on Lanzarote thanks to its array of lodgings, beaches, services and overall leisure offer for all ages and families.. Still, it offers all the tranquillity one might need for a relaxing vacation being a favourite destination for travellers that want some fun and party but away from massive tourism resorts.
One of the great appeals of Costa Teguise is its recreational facilities which vary from a large variety of water sports activities to amazing diving spots, golf course, water park, theme parks, etc. You’ll find several windsurfing and diving schools, surf shops, etc. along the Cucharas Beach and Jablillo Avenue.
But above all the major draw of Costa Teguise are the beaches. Cucharas beach is most appreciated by windsurf lovers while Bastian Beach is ideal for families with small children since it is easily accessible and protected from the winds. Though smaller than the others, the fine white sandy beach of Jablillo is also of note.
You can also engage in many extra activities. With the spectacular climate in Lanzarote you can choose from a variety of outdoor, water or adventure sports such as kite surfing, windsurfing, diving, trekking, climbing, para-sailing, ultra light, cycling, tennis, golf, fishing, etc.
The perfect complement to your your surfing holidays…
Famara is unlike anywhere else on Lanzarote. It boasts the longest beach on the island, with a stunning backdrop of a 700mt cliff. People love Famara because of its laid-back atmosphere, barely touched by tourism (Trip Advisor reviews on Famara). Surfers come here to ride the world-class waves; the rest of us come to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet… Away from mass tourism and surrounded by the marvelous clif "Risco de Famara", we teach on the 5 km long beach break of "Playa de Famara".
La Caleta de Famara has several excellent fish restaurants and bars, some with amazing views over the sea, as well as several supermarkets, cheap "tapas" places, Pizzerias, free wi-fi spots, cybercafes, etc... A small fishing village inside a "natural reserve" Famara has a 'wild' look about it - the streets are covered in sand and there are almost as many boats 'parked' in the streets as cars. However, the welcome is warm, the atmosphere is laid back and the food and drink are always good and reasonably priced.
Wake up in front of 3 of the best surf spots in Europe!
La Santa is another small fisherman's village in the North-Western coast of Lanzarote.
The Surf Complex in La Santa is located 100 meters from the ocean with direct views to some of the best surf spots in Europe such as “El Quemao” or La Santa´s Left & Right, & “Morro Negro”. You can be surfing or just watching very experienced surfers in some of the heaviest and most beautiful and renowned waves on Europe right from your terrace during spectacular sunsets (some of the best on the island)
La Santa has several restaurants (typical Canarian, Chinese, Italian etc…), supermarkets, several bars, cybercafes, surf shops, surfboards factory (repair also) and a bike rental shop.
If you want to party, there is also a Disco at La Santa Sport Hotel throwing big parties most nights.
La Santa is located 15 minutes by car from Famara but we'll pick you up and get you back to La Santa's surf apartments on surf/kite class days.
